Geography: The Republic of Seychelles, located in Eastern Africa, forms a widely scattered archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean. The islands are divided into two main physical types: the group of granitic and mountainous central islands or inner islands, surrounded by flat coastal beaches and the outer islands, representing coral atolls and coral reefs with slight elevations above sea level. The main islands are Mahe (covering 142 sq km), which houses the capital and the only city Victoria, Praslin (with the land area of 38 sq km) famous for the rare "coco de mer" palms and La Digue (10 sq km) featuring Anse Source d'Argent-one of the most famous Seychelles beaches.

Climate: Seychelles experiences a pleasant tropical climate with temperatures at sea level varying from 23째C to 31째C year-round. May to October is characterized by southeastern trade-winds which bring a relatively dry season. January and February are somehow rainy, with average rainfall from 60 mm in June to 350 mm in January. The best months to visit Seychelles are around April and October.

Flora & Fauna: Seychelles boasts over 700 various endemic species of plants, including Coco-de Mer-the largest seed in the world, albizzies, takamatas, baobabs and casuarinas that form an important part of the overall flora of the country. Seychelles also hosts some of the largest seabird colonies, including such species as Sooty tern, White-tailed tropic birds, and Frigate birds. You can find spectacular marine life, with more than 1000 species of fish. Seychelles is famous for Bird Island-its wildlife sanctuary, home to colorful reef animals, such as the Green Sea Turtle.

People: The citizens living in Seychelles islands are known as Seychellois, introducing several ethnic races mostly coming from Africa as well as significant numbers of French, Chinese and Arabs.
