Holidays to St Lucia are incredible! The choice is one you can't possibly regret. This beautiful, unspoiled gem of an island is the essence of all that's best about the Caribbean. From the moment you arrive you'll fall under its spell.

If you want breathtaking scenery with gorgeous exotic flora and fauna, it's all here. If you're looking for peace and tranquility in a romantic setting, you've got it. On the other hand, if you have a lively family looking for adventure and fun, this is also the place for you! Foodie or culture buff, St Lucia offers you rich variety and an unforgettable experience.

Head for the warm, sparkling sea fringed by endless beaches of soft golden sand. Scuba dive and snorkel among rainbow coral reefs or develop your skills in other water sports. Relax under the shade of towering palm trees and enjoy planning your trips inland: there's so much for you to see and do in St Lucia!

You have a wide choice of ways to explore: on foot, by mountain bike, in a hired jeep, or take an excursion from your hotel.

Starting in the north, visit the national park of Pigeon Island and view remains of military buildings used during the battles between the French and the British for the island of Saint Lucia. The views from the two hill are enough to take your breath away.

Then you must go south to Castries, St Lucia's capital. Wander the streets , savouring the sights and smells…and try some of the vast range of cuisines in its wonderful gourmet restaurants. Visit Fort Charlotte and learn about the historic battle. Photograph the colourful clapboard houses and impressive cathedral, and buy delicious dark rum on sale in shops everywhere!

Go further south to Soufrière and gaze at the magnificent Piton mountains, ancient volcanic plugs that rise sheer from the sea to jut out over the rainforest. Visit the 'world's only drive-in volcano' and take a detoxifying dip in bubbling sulphurous mud baths.

Don't miss the Fond Doux working plantation with its lovingly restored Creole style buildings. Watch the daily 'cocoa dance', done to polish cocoa beans before roasting…guests can even join in!

Another must-see is the colour-changing water of the Diamond Falls in the magnificently exotic Botanical Gardens. While here, try out the mineral baths, originally built for the troops of French king Louis XVI and recommended for chronic rheumatism and sore joints or muscles!

Everywhere you will find outstanding chefs creating sensational food from simple beach fare to sumptuous fine dining, with dishes influenced by French, African, Indian, Asian and many more traditions. One essential gourmet experience is the traditional Friday night party known as the 'Fish Fry' in the picturesque village of Anse la Ray. Locals and tourists alike enjoy delicious fresh fish and shellfish from vendor stalls and dance along to live music rhythms at the same time! Wonderful.

Nature lovers can see gaudy parrots and enchanting hummingbirds, watch graceful manta rays swimming and bats cleverly catching fish. Thrill-seekers will want to test their courage with zip-lining (sometimes known as flying fox). Party people can enjoy calypso rhythms in beach bars on Reduit beach and the throbbing live music clubs and bars along the waterfront of Rodney Bay.

Whoever you are, and whatever your taste in holidays, St Lucia will provide you with the warmest of welcomes and a truly fabulous experience. Deciding to visit is just the beginning!
