Ha'apai group consists of 68 small islands that form the geological and geographical center of Tonga. Most islands are small, low-lying coral atolls except for the volcanic islands of Tofu, the island of Lifuka and a sleeping volcano island Kao in the west. The islands group of Ha'apai is famous for its old town Phangan, fantastic beaches, and beautiful volcanoes. The hotel Sandy Beach Resort is located in Ha'apai, offering excellent swimming and wonderful snorkeling reefs and one of the most beautiful beaches in Tonga. There are many other Tonga resorts and hotels, like Eua Island with its magnificent coral reefs, the islands group of Niuhi, lost in the ocean, the capital city Nuku'alofa with its places of interests, many offshore hotels and other beach hotels for tourists visiting Tonga. It wasn't in vain that Captain Cook called the islands of Tonga "friendly islands". So they remained till our days, which is proved by the excellent, wonderful and polite service of the hotels' staffs of the "Caribbean in the Pacific", that is Tonga.
